Athena Henry, 54 of Apollo, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Born February 14, 1959 in New Kensington she is the daughter of the late Ulysses James and Minnie Curcio Mandis. A member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in New Kensington, she enjoyed cooking,playing with her granddaughter and  spending time with her family and friends. survivors include her husband of 26 years Leroy R. Henry Jr. of Apollo. Daughter Brittiny (Justin) Hensley of East Vandergrift. Son Dimitri James Henry of Apollo. Granddaughter Zoe Hensley of East Vandergrift. Sister Sylvia (Robert) Marino of Allegheny Township. Niece Jessica Hornyak of Allegheny Township.Family and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 in the Dunmire-Kerr-Rowe Funeral Home, Inc. 244 Franklin Avenue Vandergrift where a Trisagion service will be held Friday at 1:30 in the funeral home, Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Vandergrift with the Very Reverend Fr.Stephen Mazaris officiating. Interment will be in the Vandergrift Cemetery. Visit us at

I want to express my deepest sympathy to Athena's family.Athena was a childhood friend of mine and I'll never forget her.She was a friend that you look back on your life and can remember all the great times you had.I'm so glad she was a part of my life,even though its been years.I'll always remember her with a smile.She sure was one of a kind.GOD BLESS ANOTHER ANGEL IN HEAVEN.....

My deepest sympathy. Athena and I were friends throughout school. When I would see her out and about, we would still talk about the old days and how much fun we used to have. She was always smiling and laughing. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
