Velma L. Cummins, 91, of Hyde Park, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 in her residence. Born May 8, 1921 in Jakes Run, WV. She is the daughter of the late Lesse W. and Grace Moore Wright and had lived in the area all of her life. She had been employed by Reidboard Brothers in Washington Township, Ben Franklin in Allegheny Township and Montgomery Wards in Lower Burrell. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Vandergrift, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing and working in the yard. Survivors include a daughter Patricia (Walter) Smietana of Hyde Park. Two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Charles "Pat"'Cummins in 1975, three brothers Vergil, Vernon and Vaughn Wright. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 11 am till time of service at 1 pm with her Pastor Sharon Waltenbaugh officiating in the Dunmire-Kerr & Rowe Funeral Home, Inc. 244 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift.
